Dixie Ferrer

As an artist, Dixie Ferrer has always embraced nature and the tactile elements it offers, and an ethereal interpretation of the "Spirit of Life" is evident in her work. After moving  to her cottage nestled in 13 acres of woods in southern Indiana, she started collecting  many "treasures of nature" from her daily hikes and thus her Artful Spirit mixed media figurative sculpture business was launched.

 Traditional oils and  mixed media collage paintings are also used to communicate her emotional response to life.  In her collage paintings, a unique layering process is used combining a variety of painting, drawing, photography and printmaking techniques  with handmade papers and collage materials.

Dixie  teaches her mixed media techniques to children and adults in her studio or a location of choice. Individual or group classes may be scheduled. Dixie's work has been recognized and honored by invitations and awards in national and regional juried exhibits as well as gallery affiliations throughout the country.
